The Cement Factory

The old Cement Factory was built in 1937 behind 16-18 East Rd. The factory later burned down in the 1949 fire. During its time in operation the factory produced well over 20,000 blocks of cement and used some of the best machines at the time, including the "Success Block Machine" made by Concrete Equipment Company in Michigan.
